Based on Oxford Learner's Pocket Dictionary (OLPD), "overcome" means defeat, and make weak.
I could guesst the meaning of make weak, but i still doubt about defeat. So i checked it by using google translate. And tarrrraaaa..... overcome means mengatasi and defeat means mengalahkan
